1916 brown suede suit from Hickson, New York

This soft brown suede ensemble is rather special.
Dated 1916, it comes from Hickson, a high-class fashion retailer and department store in New York City in the early decades of the twentieth century.
The firm started as a men’s tailor but evolved to be what the designer Howard Greer described as “the most elegant and expensive specialty shop on Fifth Avenue.”

It has a little damage and some repair, but remains a unique outfit and fascinating piece of history.
