Set of 19th-century Bavarian folk costume prints

This set of antique prints came from my late friend, Marie Louise, milliner extraordinaire, and collector of beautiful things.
They depict 19th-century Bavarian folk costume, and are wonderfully hand coloured so that the outfits stand out from the black and white etched backgrounds. Each one also happens to show a conversation between a young lady and a gentleman …and there seems to be a lot of hat wearing and pipe smoking going on.
They are framed in black and make an elegant collection – but at the same time manage to be quirky and make you smile.
I think they’re great!
