Renowned French engraver and painter, Roger Marage was celebrated for his masterful intaglio techniques, particularly etching and burin work on copper.

Trained at the École des Beaux-Arts in Rennes and Paris, he later taught at the Paris Beaux-Arts for over three decades.

His works—often architectural studies, still lifes, and landscapes—are marked by precision, depth, and a refined use of India ink.

Marage received the Grand Prix des Beaux-Arts de la Ville de Paris in 1954 and the Prix Baudry de gravure in 1990, and his art is held in major French museum collections, including the Bibliothèque nationale de France.

He is remembered as one of the foremost engravers of his generation.

Earlier this year, in Paris, I bought a large portfolio, full of original prints, collected by the late, French artist, Daniele Fuchs. She was born in 1931 and died in 2013, so these works span an impressive variety of styles and subjects. Engravings, etchings, lithographs, lino and woodcuts – they also represent a wide range of print making techniques. Most are by contemporary artists that were also her friends and many of the works are dedicated to her with fond words.

There are pieces by artists who have attained a level of notoriety and others who’s names I’m having trouble sourcing, so I’ve decided to let the works speak for themselves…and make them all affordable.
