The “half doll” is a dainty porcelain or bisque figurine, fashionable in the early 20th century with an upper body, head, arms, but no legs legs.
They were produced this way so that they could be attached to something useful – commonly a pin cushion, tea cozy or powder box

The vast majority of half dolls were produced between 1900 and the 1920s by German factories such as Dressel & Kister, Heubach, Goebel and Kestner.
